Overview
The firm has assembled a best-in-class team of attorneys who regularly represent homebuilders and those transacting with homebuilders. The scope of this practice group includes assets located throughout the U.S., the Caribbean, Central America and Asia. Some aspects of this practice include the following:
-
Acquisitions and dispositions of raw land.
-
Acquisitions and dispositions of entitled home sites.
-
Acquisition, construction, bridge and permanent financings, from both lender and borrower positions.
-
Joint ventures, transaction platforms, and other business combinations between homebuilders and equity providers, representing either side with equal skill.
-
Land use, development and construction.
-
Workouts and restructurings.
Our Homebuilders Practice Group has grown over the years from representing major equity investors in complex land assemblage transactions and financings to representing national, publicly-traded homebuilders in their own transactions, which have included acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings of all types, management arrangements, investment platforms and construction contracts. The Homebuilders Practice Group regularly and seamlessly brings to bear Duval & Stachenfeld’s interdisciplinary “pure play” approach by drawing upon its tax, restructuring, finance, land use, and international practice experts when needed for a transaction.
The Homebuilders Practice Group is led by long-time real estate partner Craig Brown, and also includes:

Bruce Stachenfeld, a founding partner of the firm and former chair of the Real Estate Practice Group; and
