Beth Turtz is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and the Distressed Real Estate Practice Group. Ms. Turtz has over 30 years of extensive experience in all principal areas of real estate law, including acquisition, disposition, finance and leasing of buildings and shopping centers; transfers of undeveloped land; exchange transactions; commercial property management; and conversion and sale of cooperatives and condominiums (including bulk transfers of units).
Most recently, Ms. Turtz has had extensive experience in real estate acquisitions and sales, and ground leases.
Recent real estate transactions handled by Mr. Turtz include:
Review of a ground lease and negotiation with landlord of an amendment to ground lease, in connection with a purchase of the tenant’s interest – with the intent of redeveloping the property to boutique hotel use.
Negotiation of an amended and restated ground lease with the State of Connecticut for airport land on behalf of a fixed base operator.
Negotiation of ground lease with a Florida County for airport land on behalf of a fixed base operator.
Ms. Turtz also specializes in high end residential transactions in what we call BT High End Residential. Ms. Turtz routinely represents high net worth individuals in residential transactions in New York City.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Turtz practiced real estate law as an associate with a number of prominent New York law firms, including nearly twelve years at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt and Mosle, where she became Special Counsel. In addition, Ms. Turtz spent nine years as in-house counsel to a private real estate company, where she was responsible for a sophisticated shopping center practice. As a result of her in-house experience, Ms. Turtz has a great understanding of the specific needs of our clients.
